Well my old dad is still as cantankerous as ever.
I suppose at 92 he is a little entitled to be a pain and wind people up, but why is he so well behaved with strangers and rarely seen family members?
The people he spends the most time with are the ones he winds up the most. Is it just familiarity breeding contempt? Or is it because we see him the most we get all of the stick. (Probably not deliberate on his part).

Caring for an elderly relative is not all fun.
It’s tying, mundane and not very rewarding.

I now realise that up to the time I retired from work I have always worked. Apart from the time I had 6 months off work when I had a wobble (but even then I was in full time employment) one way or another I have been working. To suddenly stop working was very alien to me and it has taken me a long time to come to grips with this.

Now I am finding it rather pleasant being a not worker. Money is not really a problem except in the more distant future, but I have spent most of my life with little spare cash so it shouldn’t be a problem.

Gosh! Has it really been august since my last post? Well Christmas is here and I have come alive.
It has been a busy day with my daughter and her boyfriend, my sister and brother in law and my wife bossing me around.

Tried to chip the ice off the back patio, but it is about an inch thick and like concrete. I have used up all the salt in the house and it is still like a skating rink!
Mind you it didn’t help after Jinny and her sister had taken the dogs for a walk, when they came back the dogs were all muddy and after a good rinsing down there was more water on the patio.

Well merry Christmas everyone and a happy new year.

Feliz Navidad
